Greene County and Paton-Churdan high schools will celebrate homecoming during the coming week.
The theme at Greene County high school is “A Touch of Class.” Along with themed dress-up days, the students’ schedule includes a Glow Fun Run/Walk Monday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 pm at Daubendiek Park, powderpuff football Wednesday at 7 pm at Karber Field in Grand Junction.
The cheerleaders’ jersey auction will be Thursday, Oct. 2, at 6:15 pm at the middle school gymnasium. Coronation will follow at about 7:30. Seniors select members of the homecoming court; sophomores, juniors and seniors vote for the king and queen.
The homecoming parade will be Friday at 2 pm. The Rams take on the Humboldt Wildcats in freshman football at 4:45, with the varsity game at 7:30.
Paton-Churdan students are planning an “All-American” homecoming.
Coronation will be this Sunday, Sept. 28, at 6:30 pm at the school. A bonfire will follow in the yard west of the school building. P-C students will also enjoy themed dress-up days. Students in all grades will be bussed to Jefferson for the homecoming parade Friday afternoon. (Parents who plan to pick up their children in Jefferson following the parade are reminded to alert the school, via a note or a phone call, BEFORE Friday.
